About the role:
At Nation Partners we provide innovative solutions to complex projects, making decisions in service of both people and planet.
You’ll be joining our Business Advisory practice area, which offers investment advisory, project and program evaluation design and delivery and business advisory services to our clients, often with a focus on environmental initiatives and programs. As our Environmental Strategy and Evaluation Consultant, you will play a key role in:
Development of Strategic Environmental Solutions – Design and deliver cutting-edge strategy and evaluation projects that drive real environmental outcomes. You'll interact with legislation, policy and risk concepts to deliver tailored solutions across areas including climate adaptation, natural resource management, disaster management, and decarbonisation initiatives.
Data-Driven Insights – Transform complex quantitative and qualitative data into compelling stories that inform decision-making. Contribute to business cases and options assessments, design surveys, conduct interviews, create visualisations, and build evidence bases that shape policy and investment decisions.
Build Trusted Client Relationships – Become the go-to advisor for government departments and private sector clients seeking pragmatic, high-quality environmental solutions. Your expertise will directly influence investment in some of Australia's largest environmental programs.
Deliver Project Excellence – Coordinate complex programs from planning through delivery, managing resources, schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring quality outcomes that exceed client expectations.
Shape Business Growth – Contribute to our expansion in Victoria and NSW's growing evaluation and advisory markets, working on multi-million dollar programs across land management, water, climate change, and infrastructure sectors.
You'll contribute to transformational initiatives including:
Biodiversity, biosecurity and natural resource management
Renewable energy projects
Protected area management frameworks
Water infrastructure and operations
Disaster recovery and preparedness planning
Desired Skills and Experience
About you: You’re motivated, creative and passionate about influencing a better and more sustainable future. Coming to the role with 2-6 years of experience, you’ll have:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, policy, sustainability, or related field
Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Excel and MS Office suite
Bonus points: Experience with Power BI, Visio, or collaborative tools like MIRO, an understanding of program evaluation.
